When it came to our nursery I knew I wanted it to be beautiful and perfect but like many people I didn't want to break the bank. So, we decided to do a mix of new and refurbished pieces along with some good old IKEA hacks. Needless to say I was beyond thrilled with the outcome.

I didn't know our baby's gender when designing the nursery so we had to keep it pretty neutral. It couldn't skew too feminine or masculin so no pinks or blues (thank goodness!). I opted for white and grey tones but added a pop of colour using accents from Pehr Designs. I am obsessed with this brand and used their 'Bright Kids' line for our little beans room. For those of you who don't know Pehr Designs is a Canadian brand created by two mamas who were looking for a right mix of classic and modern, the subtle balance of fresh yet sophisticated design.

If I were to describe the room I'd say it is playfully sophisticated. It has been the perfect space to raise Draper in. We've spent endless hours sitting in the rocking chair singing, reading books or just cuddling. I believe the vibe of your nursery is so important. You and your baby spends a lot of time in there so it's important it feels warm and calming.

A big shoutout goes to my hubby for being such an amazingly talented DIY'er. He spent an entire Sunday afternoon with me sticking each one of those decals onto the wall individually. He did some electrical work to hang my amazing light. He hung everything on the walls, built my IKEA shelves for the closet AND refurbished our furniture. I don't think the room would have turned out half as nice if it wasn't for him.

Here are some references for all aspects of our nursery. If you have any other questions feel free to leave a comment or message me.

Enjoy creating the perfect space for your new bundle of joy.
