Drapers First Halloween

Growing up (especially in my university years) Halloween was the mother of all holidays. I would look forward to this day all year and start planning my costume months in advance. Let me honest it was the perfect excuse for me and my girl tribe (AKA the mob - you know who you are) to dress up in the most ridiculous and often inappropriate costumes. Yup, we even went as Ms. Lube's one year. WOW. Now I'm "all grown up" (sort of) so Halloween isn't about me anymore. It's all about you know who... Draper.
Draper's first halloween
Yeah, yeah I know there is nothing cuter than a pudgy baby dressed up in a halloween costume. It makes for the best photo ops and even better memories. The keener mom in me wanted to create the absolute best outfit for Draper's very first halloween. I mean have you seen what Jillian Harris did with her family? Alice in Wonderland for the win!! But um life got in the way so yeah Draper is a duck but damnnnnnn is she a cute duck.

Get this look
It's simple! You don't have to be a Pinterest mom to pull this one off. Just follow these seven easy steps...
1. Open Facebook Marketplace
2. Search 'Baby Halloween Costumes 6-9 months' (change size depending on baby's age)
3. Choose a costume you like (for us it was either a duck, zebra or ladybug)
4. Message seller to see if it's still available
5. If it is, don't be shy, barter a bit. ;)
5. Pick it up on porch. Leave money under the mat
6. Take it home and wash it
7. Dress baby and relish in the cuteness
Ta-da! Cue the song Five Little Ducks. ;)
Generally halloween costumes are only worn once so why splurge on a brand new one at Carters for $30+tax when you can get a gently used on for only $10? And that is how you do a halloween costume on a budget.
Okay, okay I'll be better next year.... I have 365 days to start planning and getting Diego on board for a family costume.
Halloween fun with friends
And just because babies in costumes are super cute here is some more pics of Draper and her friends the monkey and unicorn.
